If you have chosen Graz Ragnitz Private Hospital for your treatment in consultation with your personal physician, your doctor will contact our Admission office to make the necessary arrangements (bed, operating room). Your attending doctor will choose the time of your discharge from the hospital. The typical check-out time at our hospital is by 11 a.m.

Preparation appointment

Shortly before your admission for an inpatient stay, you will be invited to visit us for a preparation appointment. This is a medical consultation, possibly including diagnostics. In the of case surgery, this will also include an explanation of the anesthesia and an examination to confirm readiness for the operation.

We will inform you of which documents you must bring with to this preparation appointment (e.g. relevant prior findings) and when you check in at the hospital for your inpatient stay (e.g. cost coverage by your non-Austrian private insurance provider or a deposit).

Inpatient admission

At the start of your inpatient stay, please go first to the Admission Office (on the ground floor, to the right of the Reception). Once you have completed all formalities here, a staff member will take you to the admissions ward or to the ward you are booked into.

Companion

Occasionally it is necessary or desirable to have an accompanying person stay in the room with the patient, for example, if the patient is a child or an elderly person, or simply because a trusted person should be present. Please feel free to discuss this option with our staff at the admission office.

There are also several hotels near the hospital where your accompanying person can stay overnight.

Discharge

Your attending doctor will choose the time of your discharge from the hospital. On the day of discharge, you will receive a confirmation of your stay at Reception.

On the day of discharge, we ask that you vacate the room by 11 a.m. to make it available for the next patient. This time may be delayed for medical reasons. It sometimes happens that patients cannot be discharged as planned, which can result in delays in issuing the rooms. We always strive to resolve these situations for you as quickly as possible.

If you would like to pay your bill with extra charges (such as telephone, parking garage, etc.) in cash, with a debit card or credit card, you may do this from Monday to Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., or on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. If you are a self-payer or have made other special arrangements with us, we ask that you discuss this with our Admission office or Billing office.

TIP

When you leave the ward, please inform our nurses so that the discharge can be initiated in time.
