We are pleased when our patients receive frequent visits, not least because visits have been proven to support recovery. As relatives and close confidants, you also provide valuable emotional and practical support before, during, and after a hospital stay.

Visiting hours

There are no fixed visiting hours at our hospital - every visitor is welcome and ultimately contributes to the rapid recovery of our patients. However, because patients need their sleep, we recommend you plan your visit between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Outside these hours, please consult our nursing staff in advance. We also ask you to please be considerate of the other patients in the room, especially if he or she is not feeling well.

NOTE

From time to time we have to ask visitors to leave the room for a short time due to certain nursing and medical activities.

Information for visitors

Being careful not only protects your loved ones, but also other patients and the hospital team.

Are you healthy yourself?

Please do not visit if you have a contagious illness – the immune system is weakened when people are unwell. In this case, please telephone the patient instead.

Hand hygiene is important

Please take care to wash your hands when you visit someone in the hospital.

Resting periods

After an operation, patients often need more rest than usual. If the patient has several relatives who would like to visit, please arrange this amongst yourselves in such a way that the patient has plenty of time to rest.

Flowers as a present

Please note that for reasons of hygiene, only cut flowers are permitted in patients’ rooms (no pot plants, please).

Please note:

We are committed to protecting our patients’ privacy. For this reason we do not allow photography or filming within the hospital premises. This measure also serves to protect the personal rights of all individuals in the hospital.
Media representatives are requested to contact the Director’s office in advance.

Support from relatives

During a hospital stay, patients are faced with many new people and processes, which can increase the need for contact with a trusted person. Relatives and close friends can be a great help to patients to keep an overview of all the information provided.

  • You are welcome to accompany the patient to medical consultations or discussions with the nursing team, and help the patient keep track of everything that gets mentioned
  • Afterwards you can chat with the patient about any concerns he/she may have.
  • If you are not sure how you can best support the patient during his/her hospital stay, please ask the care team for advice.
  • The medical team is not able to give information about the health of a patient to anyone else without the express permission of the patient. This means the patient must specify you by name if you are a trusted person who is entitled to receive any such medical information.

Companion

Occasionally it is necessary or desirable to have an accompanying person stay in the room with the patient, for example, if the patient is a child or an elderly person, or simply because a trusted person should be present. Please feel free to discuss this option with our staff at the admission office.

There are also several hotels near the hospital where your accompanying person can stay overnight.
